Letcher County Flood Relief

Letcher County Flood Relief
Back in 2022, Eastern Kentucky was ravaged by storms, resulting in devastating flooding. In 2025, our state is still recovering from the damages done, still repairing homes and lives that were forever changed. In April of 2024, Clean4Change set off on our first mutual aid trip with Morehead State University’s Evergreen group to help one of the families whose lives were forever altered.
“People don’t realize the importance of ‘home’ until they don’t have one.” — Letcher County flood victim.
We had a very successful trip in April 2024 and another in May 2024, clearing out four rooms in this family's house and really starting the process to get this family home! But there is still a lot of work to be done on this house and many others. Thank you for your donation to send us back to Letcher County many more times. Through solidarity with our neighbors, we can all grow stronger!
We are now working at the Colson Civic Center in Letcher County, an important center to the local community. They host fun community events and assist the community in many other tangible ways, like coat drives in the winter and toy drives for Christmas. So far, we have made three trips to the Colson Civic Center, in June 2024, March 2025, and May 2025. This building still has a long way to go, and now we are focusing on stabilizing their stream bank that is rapidly eroding. It is more important now more than ever to invest in groups on the ground that are able to get this work done. No one will do it for us. Donate today and help us make the Colson Civic Center better than ever.
Donating today will help our team get out to Letcher County to start this work by helping to feed our volunteers and pay for their gas. Working to relieve natural disasters today is the hope for a better tomorrow.
